In this Legacy Interview, Australian veteran Dr. Craig Horne reflects on his experiences of service, the lessons learned through military life, and the strong sense of camaraderie shared among veterans.

Craig speaks about the values developed through his time connected to Australia’s defence community and how those experiences continue to shape his outlook today. Like many veterans, the friendships formed through shared service and challenge remain an important and lasting part of life beyond the military.

He also shares his connection to the Camberwell Pompey Elliott RSL, where veterans and members come together to honour service, maintain friendships and support one another. For many, the RSL remains a place where the spirit of mateship continues long after active service has ended.

This interview forms part of the Camberwell Pompey Elliott RSL Legacy Interview Series, preserving the stories of Australian veterans so their experiences, service and perspectives can be remembered by future generations.
