ABOUT US

Our vision

TAKING CARE OF VETERANS
ON THE HOME FRONT

We exist to provide comradeship, community, aid and support for both serving and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force. Serving in the ADF is a rewarding yet demanding career that takes its toll on Veterans and their families. We work to deliver improved pathways for Veterans to access services including counselling, peer group programs, respite and health support services.

ABOUT US

PRESERVING A LEGACY

The RSL sub-branches Tramways East Melbourne and Camberwell City have joined forces to become Camberwell Pompey Elliott RSL, aiming to provide the best possible support and outcomes for members who may include serving and ex-service members of the Australian Defence Force, widows and their families and members of Victoria’s Emergency Services – Police, Fire and Ambulance.

OUR MISSION TO PRESERVE POMPEY’S LEGACY, IS A PLEDGE THAT DRIVES US EVERY DAY – WE LOOK AFTER OUR VETERAN COMMUNITY ON THE HOMEFRONT.

We support Veterans to thrive in their civilian lives through sustainable, relevant support and services. Amalgamated funds go towards the improvement of Veteran welfare and the preservation of the memory of those who died for their country while serving in the Australian Defence Force.

The club’s offers access to formal and social meetings and activities, a respite program and welfare support. A recent amalgamation of the Tramways East Melbourne and Camberwell City RSL Sub-Branches, the Club’s name pays homage to Harold ‘Pompey’ Elliott; a Boer War and WW1 veteran with extensive military experience, an inspiring and outspoken leader, and a local Camberwell resident.

A DISTINGUISHED LEADER

A CHARISMATIC AND INSPIRING LEADER, POMPEY ELLIOTT WAS KNOWN TO ROLL UP HIS SLEEVES IN BATTLE, NEVER SENDING HIS TROOPS INTO SITUATIONS HE HIMSELF WOULD NOT GO.

OUR MISSION

COMRADESHIP, LEGACY
AND COMMEMORATION

“The Club offers a safe and inclusive space for members to enjoy social connection and it hosts RSL Remembrance and ANZAC Day services. Free to attend, these commemorative services welcome all who wish to pay their respects to the fallen.” The Hon, Jeff Kennett, President.
